Does Dark Side of the Moon really match up to The Wizard of Oz

Believe it or not, that's the question that started it all.  Steve had always wondered if the rumors were true -- that you could play the album and movie together and they would magically sync up.  He imagined creating a program that would let him test this theory, but never gave it much thought beyond that...until podcasting came around.

With podcasting, people began to post their home-brew movie commentaries online.  Unfortunately, nobody had a good solution for playing them in sync with a DVD.  Seeing a practical use for his idea, Steve began working on the software.  Having no programming skills whatsoever, Steve turned to Craigslist.

Through Craigslist, Steve met Patrick -- a talented programmer with a track record of DVD related programming.  The two struck up a relationship and began tackling the project.  Steve handled the look and layout of the program (aka "the easy stuff").  While Patrick handled everything else (aka "the hard stuff").

In 2005 their first website, www.sharecrow.net was launched.  The website offered a free downloadable version of the software (also called Sharecrow), as well as links to many downloadable commentaries (which they call CROWS - Commentaries Released on the Web).  The site and software quickly gained popularity among DVD fans.

In June 2006 they acquired the rights to www.sharecrow.com.  In Fall 2006, they launched an updated version of the site, with more crows and new features.  Currently, Steve and Patrick are busy working on future versions of Sharecrow.

And in case you're wondering -- they still haven't tried playing The Wizard of Oz and Dark Side of the Moon together.
